Mudejar aliceres of the church

A group of Mudejar aliceres from the church of the Monastery of Sancti Spiritus, now kept in the museum. These pieces formed part of the architectural decoration of the church and show geometric motifs characteristic of Castilian Mudejar art. Their design and technique reflect the survival of craft traditions of Islamic origin in Christian religious architecture of the 14th and 15th centuries. They are a significant record of the original decorative richness of the building. They have not been restored, only cleaned, thus preserving the original polychromy.
